Where to get Affenhuahua Puppies

You’ll be able to find this dog breed anywhere you can adopt dogs. However, since it’s a designer dog, the American Kennel Club doesn’t recognize this pup. So, you can call your local animal shelter or breed rescue organizations to see if anyone has any Affenhuahua dogs available for adoption.

Alternatively, you can search for a reputable breeder. When doing your research, you’ll easily tell the ethical breeders from the rest. For instance, they’ll do the following:

  • Socialize and train the puppies as early as possible
  • Ensure the puppies are up to date with their vaccinations
  • The puppies and parents will live kennel-free in the breeder’s home as part of the family
  • The breeder will have health documents and family tree history available for you to bring home upon adoption
  • They’ll want to meet with you in person so you can guys can get to know each other and so you can meet the puppies and the parents

In addition, the breeder should have a vast knowledge of their dogs and the breed as a whole. So, if you have any questions about the breeding process, adoption process, the breed, the breeder, or the puppies or parents, the breeder should answer.

The Cost

Appearance

Affenhuahuas are small dogs that would be part of the toy group. For instance, they can grow to be about eight to 12 inches tall and weigh between four and 12 pounds.

Often called a “monkey-face” Terrier, this doggo has a round, scruffy face. In addition, they can come in a few coat colors, such as brown, black, blue, tan, or white.

Temperament

The Affenhuahua is a great family companion dog. For example, they’re loyal and affectionate with their family members. Also, they’re great with young children, other dogs, and meeting new people. Of course, as with all dog breeds, this doggo needs early socialization and training.

This pup is intelligent and hyper, so training may be easy one day and difficult the next. You’ll be able to train them yourself at home. However, if you want some extra support, you can hire a professional dog trainer to help you out.

In addition, Affenhuahua puppies may have plenty of energy. They don’t require too much physical activity each day, but they’ll need plenty of playtime. They’ll do fine living in an apartment or a bigger house with a fenced-in yard. Ernie…

Affenhuahua Puppies – Veterinary Needs

Diet

You can feed this doggo anything that’s approved by your vet. For example, you can provide your Affenhuahua puppies with high-quality kibble or canned wet food from a commercial dog food brand or homemade dog food.

However, since this pup is small, you’ll need to keep an eye on their daily calorie intake. Otherwise, they’ll be prone to obesity.

Grooming

What’s great about this dog breed is that they’re low-maintenance when it comes to grooming. They’re considered hypoallergenic, so you won’t need to worry too much about shedding.

However, you’ll still want to brush their coat at least once a week to keep it looking nice. Also, you can bring them to a professional grooming salon for a clipping once in a while. You can bathe them as needed at home.

In addition, you’ll want to keep up with trimming their nails, cleaning their ears, and brushing their teeth regularly.
