The Akita Shepherd is probably what you think it is. It’s a mixed breed of the Akita and the German Shepherd. This is a large dog breed that’s beautiful to look at and adorable. See for yourself from the Akita Shepherd photos shown below.

If you’re thinking about bringing home this pup, they require a good amount of maintenance and exercise. So, be sure you can commit to giving this doggo the care they need. This doggo was bred for many things, as they are companion dogs who are also under the hunting, herding, and guarding groups. They are independent, loyal, and protective. However, they will bond with their dog owners.

Akita Shepherds have medium-length straight hair. However, their coat sheds heavily, so brushing and grooming a couple of times per week is necessary. They may also need the occasional bath if they get into something they weren’t supposed to.

Overall, this hybrid is a reserved breed. They can be serious, giving their jobs of guarding and hunting. However, companion dogs, they will do well with a family. They’ll enjoy cuddling on the couch with you once in a while. In addition, they can be energetic and playful, depending on their environment.

As long as they are properly trained and have early socialization, you should have no problems with this pooch. They’ll be a delight to have in any home.
