They came to be when English Foxhounds were brought over to the United States. George Washington was a fan of the foxhunt and bred these dogs together, evolving the breed. Where To Get American Foxhound Puppies

American Foxhounds are a rare dog breed. You might be able to find them in an animal shelter or a rescue organization. It might not be a purebred puppy if you do, but it could be an adult or senior. Most likely, the dog will be a mixed breed with American Foxhound in its genetic makeup.
