Bloodhound Photos

The Bloodhound, as the name suggests, is part of the hound group. Also known as the Sleuth Hound, Bloodhounds were bred as tracking dogs and to hunt by scent. With long, floppy ears and a long snout, this pooch is unmistakable. Just take a look at these Bloodhound photos to see for yourself.
Bloodhounds have a short and smooth coat that sheds once or twice per year. To keep the shedding at bay, you’ll want to brush their coat at least once per week. This will eliminate the loose hairs so that it doesn’t end up on your clothes and your furniture. Also, Bloodhounds drool a lot. So, while grooming, be sure to check the folds on their face and keep them clean. In addition, wash their food and water bowls daily to avoid unwanted bacteria growing.
A Great Best Friend
This doggo will be a delight to have around. They make great companion dogs now, but they were bred to work. So, they require a moderate amount of exercise. Each day, a long walk will do wonders for them, especially since they were trained to follow a scent for hours. Mental stimulation will be good, too. Your Bloodhound will enjoy scent games where you can hide their favorite toy or a couple of treats for them to find.
Overall, Bloodhounds are easy to train, independent, friendly, and affectionate with their family members. With early socialization, they’re great with kids and other dogs as well.
