If you want to see some Bocker photos, we’ve compiled the best of them here.
If you’ve never heard of a Bocker, that’s because it’s not actually a purebred dog. A Bocker is a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a Beagle, and there’s no doubt these make adorable dogs! However, when purchasing a mixed breed, you should take extra care in finding out a good breeder. Backyard breeders are attracted to mixed breeds because it’s easier to get away with poorer quality and health issues. They can’t produce AKC papers for mixed breeds, so it’s harder to tell the difference.
However, if you do your research and find a good breeder, you’ll have a great dog on your hands. They tend to be on the smaller side of medium, with a variety of coat colors and cute, floppy ears.
They’re highly affectionate dogs who will do great with your kids. Although they do have a decent amount of energy you’ll have to work with every day, they’re not among the most intense dogs. That means they can adapt pretty well to apartment living. If you don’t have a fenced-in backyard, it’s not an issue with this mix.
Like any dog, however, you should work on training and socialization early. Although they’re usually friendly with strangers, you’ll have to introduce them to new people at a young age for them to live up to their full potential. Any introductions with new pets or pets you already have should be taken slowly, just in case.
