If you thought a Boxweiler was a mix between a Boxer purebred and a Rottweiler pup, then you’d be right. Looking like the perfect blend of both parent breeds, the Boxweiler looks like a tough dog. However, that’s not the case at all. They are affectionate, loving, and loyal. Take a look at some of these Boxweiler photos to see just how cute this hybrid is.
Boxweilers have a ton of energy. Given their energy levels and size, an apartment won’t be the best fit for this pooch. Your doggo would much rather have a bigger house with a fenced-in yard. This way, they can run around and play to their heart’s content. They’ll keep an eye on the yard and the kids outside as well. They’re good guard dogs, especially because they don’t get aggressive.
With that said, Boxweilers are affectionate with their family members. They’re great with kids, good with other dogs in the household, but they’re not too friendly with strangers. They’ll warm up to strangers, but will need proper training and socialization to do so. Luckily, they’re intelligent dogs who are easy to train.
So, while it might take a while for you to be able to bring your doggo to the dog park, you can still hang out with them in the backyard. Additionally, you can take daily, long walks. Your Boxweiler will enjoy that. It’ll give them physical activity and they’ll get to spend some time with you.
