Alaskan Malamute – An Active Dog

So, if you’re looking for a family companion dog, then the Alaskan Malamute may be the one for you and your family. However, since they’re big dogs, you’ll want to have them in a bigger house with a fenced-in yard. They have high energy levels, so running around in a yard will be good for them. Also, you’ll want to bring your Alaskan Malamute on for long walks every day. If you go hiking or other outdoor adventures, your doggo will love to go with you. Also, you’ll want to bring them to a professional grooming salon at least once a month for a good cleaning. They shed a moderate amount, so brushing their coat two to three times a week will be ideal for keeping the loose hairs at bay.

With proper care, the Alaskan Malamute has an average lifespan of about ten to 14 years. However, they are known to get some health issues, so be sure to bring them to the vet at least once a year for their annual checkup. Overall, they’ll be an excellent family companion dog that’s loving and fun to be around.
