The Australian Shepherd Husky is a crossbreed between the Australian Shepherd and the Siberian Husky. This hybrid was first bred in the 1990s in North America as excellent family companion dogs. They’re known to be loyal, protective, and active dogs. Even though they were bred to be companions, they come from two working dog breeds, so you can expect the Australian Shepherd Husky to be energetic and want to work.

This dog breed is medium-sized, growing to be about 18 to 25 inches tall. Of course, this crossbreed can inherit anything from either parent breed, but they will most likely look like the Siberian Husky parent and have the double coat of the Australian Shepherd parent. Since both parent breeds come in many coat colors and markings, this mixed breed can also come in many different coat colors and markings.

Also, this mixed breed is highly intelligent. Both their parent breeds are intelligent and easy to train, but they can also be stubborn. So, you’ll need to show your Australian Shepherd Husky who the boss is to make sure that training goes smoothly.

In addition, they have extremely high energy levels and will love having a job to do. If you want this crossbreed to be tired out at the end of the day, then be sure to bring them on outdoor activities with you, such as hiking. Also, be sure to have a fenced-in yard in a bigger house where they can run around. Overall, this hybrid will do best with an active family. They are great with young children and being around other dogs. Not to mention they’re loyal and affectionate with their family members. However, they’ll need early training and early socialization when it comes to meeting strangers.

Australian Shepherd Husky – Grooming Is Essential

When it comes to grooming, you’ll need to bring this doggo to the professional grooming salon at least once a month. Also, they shed a lot, thanks to both parent breeds. So, you’ll want to brush their coat at least once a week. Overall, this dog has an average lifespan of about 10 to 13 years. A super elegant dog.
