Never heard of the Boshih and wondering what it is? The Boshih is actually a mix — a cross between the Boston Terrier and the Shih-Tzu.
While these dogs are amazing, be careful when seeking one out. Mixed-dog breeders can be shady, as they’ll often breed dogs together and include others in the mix. Who’s to stop them, when they don’t have to provide AKC papers for the dogs, since they’re mixes? Ensure the parents are health-tested, or look for one in a shelter instead. Unfortunately, since they’ve reached designer breed status, it’s unlikely you’ll find one to adopt though.
Still, if you do find a Boshih, they’re great dogs. You can expect a small dog that may take on the coat of the Shih-Tzu or the Boston Terrier — it’s all up in the air! The Shih-Tzu has a coat that sheds less, so many people hope for this, but there’s no guarantee. You can only look at the puppy in front of you.
Boshih – A Social Dog
These dogs love attention. Looking for a dog you can dote on, that will want to be by your side always? Then the Boshih is a great choice. They’re pretty adaptable, so whether you want an apartment dog, a family dog, or something else entirely, they’ll likely fit your lifestyle. They get along well with other animals and strangers, so expect your Boshih to be sociable. Make sure you give them plenty of positive experiences with strangers to ensure this happens though!
These dogs are intelligent, but make sure you have patience when it comes to potty training. These are small dogs, so it might be a while before they have full bladder control. If you are looking for an ideal dog to look after you really can’t do much better than the Boshih. A wonderful breed that you will love.
