The Chipin is a mixed breed of the Chihuahua and the Miniature Pinscher. There’s a lot to love about this crossbreed since they’re intelligent, easy to train, and friendly. For instance, this hybrid was initially bred as a companion dog in 2001. Also, they go by a few other names, such as the Pinhuahua or the Minchi.

Coming from two smaller dog breeds, you can be sure that the Chipin is a small dog breed. However, males are a little bit bigger and heavier than females. For example, males can grow to be about ten to 12 inches and weigh between nine and 15 pounds. On the other hand, females can grow to be about eight to 11 inches tall and weigh between five and 12 pounds. This doggo can inherit any of their looks from either parent breed, but you’ll often see a Chipin with a coat color of cream, brown, black, or fawn.

The Chipin – A Great Family Dog

The best part of the Chipin is that they have an average lifespan of about ten to 15 years as long as they get the proper care. Luckily, they don’t require too much grooming. However, they do shed, and you’ll want to care for their coat as best as you can. So, the Chipin needs daily brushing. Also, they need at least 45 minutes of physical activity every day. They have moderate energy levels and won’t need too much exercise because of their small size, but they’ll still need to stay healthy and fit. Finally, the Chipin can inherit some health issues from either parent breed. So, be sure to bring them to the vet at least once a year for their annual checkup.

Overall, the Chipin is a wonderful family companion dog. For instance, they’re loyal and affectionate with their family members. Also, they’re great with young children, other dogs, and meeting new people. You’ll want to provide them with early training and early socialization, though.
