The Huskita is a crossbreed that’s part Siberian Husky and part Akita. Also known as the Siberian Akita, this dog comes from the United States. Dating back from the 1990s, this doggo was initially bred to be a companion dog. Today, they still make an excellent family companion dog. This mixed breed takes some of the best qualities from its parent breeds. For example, the Huskita is intelligent, active, and friendly.

In addition, the Huskita is loyal and affectionate with its family members. Also, they’re great around young children, other dogs, and meeting new people. However, they can be shy or wary of others at first. They’re an excellent watchdog and will bark to alert you of something. However, they’re not an aggressive dog breed. Luckily, the Huskita is easy to train. So, provide them with early socialization and training to.

Huskita – A Great Family Dog

Huskitas are medium-sized dogs where males are slightly bigger than females. For example, males can grow to be about 23 to 25 inches tall and weigh between 60 and 75 pounds. On the other hand, females can grow to be about 22 to 24 inches tall and weigh between 50 and 65 pounds. When it comes to appearance, genetics will do its thing. So, Huskitas can look like either parent breed. However, this hybrid typically has a medium dense coat. It requires regular grooming, and they do shed a moderate amount, so you’ll want to brush their coat at least once a week to keep the loose hairs under control.

Also, the Huskita has high energy levels. As a result, they’ll need a bigger house with a fenced-in yard rather than an apartment. Finally, they’re prone to inheriting different health issues from their parent breeds. So, bring them to the vet at least once a year for their annual checkup. With proper care, they have an average lifespan of about ten to 13 years.
