The Huskydoodle is a mixed breed that’s part Siberian Husky and part Poodle. They go by a few other nicknames, such as the Siberpoo, Poosky, Huskapoo, Huskypoo, or the Siberian Poodle. Initially bred as companion dogs, it’s unknown where and when this crossbreed came to be. Today, this dog breed is still a great family companion dog, taking some of its parent breeds’ best traits. For example, the Huskydoodle is intelligent, adaptable, and energetic.

In addition, Huskydoodles are loyal and affectionate with their family members. Also, they’re excellent around young children, other dogs, and meeting new people. However, as with all other dog breeds, the Huskydoodle needs early socialization and training. This hybrid won’t do well being home alone for too long as they’re prone to separation anxiety. For example, they love to be around their humans. So, you’ll want to bring them to doggy daycare or have a dog walker check in on them if you’re going to be out of the house for most of the day.

Huskydoodle – A Dog That Needs Training

As medium-sized dogs, Huskydoodles can grow about 13 to 22 inches tall and weigh between 45 and 60 pounds. They can take after either parent when it comes to their appearance, but the Huskydoodle typically has a dense, wavy coat. In addition, Poodles are hypoallergenic, while Siberian Huskies shed a lot. So, your Huskydoodles may or may not be hypoallergenic. Regardless, you’ll still want to groom and brush their coat regularly to keep them clean.

In addition, they have moderate energy levels. They need a bigger house with a fenced-in yard rather than an apartment. Also, this crossbreed can inherit specific health issues from either parent breed. So, bring them to the vet at least once a year for their annual checkup. Also, keep them up to date with vaccinations. They have an average lifespan of about ten to 13 years with proper care.
