The Lhasapoo is a hybrid dog cross between the Lhasa Apso and the Poodle. Initially bred to be a companion dog, it’s unknown where and when this crossbreed was originally established. However, this mixed breed does make for an excellent family companion dog. There’s a lot to love about this breed. For example, the Lhasapoo is intelligent, sweet, and loving.
In addition, the Lhasapoo gets along well with everyone. For instance, they’re loyal and affectionate with their family members. Also, this doggo is great around young children, other dogs, and meeting new people. They’re an excellent pet for seniors and don’t mind having smaller animals in the home either. Lhasapoos are adaptable, as well. So, they’ll do fine living in an apartment or a bigger house with a fenced-in yard. They have moderate energy levels and need about 60 minutes per day of physical activity. As long as they receive that each day, they’ll be healthy and fit in any living situation.
Lhasapoo – A Small Dog
Also, Lhasapoos are small dogs. For example, males can grow to be about 11 to 13 inches tall and weigh between 15 and 20 pounds. On the other hand, females can grow to be about nine to 11 inches tall and weigh between ten and 15 pounds. In addition, this mixed breed has a long, wavy coat. They can inherit any appearance from their parent breeds but still need regular grooming. They might be hypoallergenic, but brushing their coat at least once every couple of days will keep it looking nice.
Finally, the Lhasapoo is prone to getting specific health issues from either parent breed. So, you’ll want to bring them to the vet at least once a year for their annual checkup. Also, keep them up to date with their vaccinations. This mixed breed has an average lifespan of about ten to 15 years with proper care.
