The Pomeagle is a crossbreed between the Beagle and the Pomeranian. Also known as the Beagle Pom, this hybrid comes from the United States. However, it’s unknown when this mixed breed first developed. It was bred for agility and companionship. Today, this doggo is still a great family companion dog. For example, Pomeagles are intelligent, happy, and friendly.
There’s a lot to love about this crossbreed. For instance, the Pomeagle is loyal and affectionate with its family members. In addition, they’re great around young children, other dogs, and meeting new people. However, they need early socialization and training. This doggo can get wary or shy around others and need practice being around them. They’re relatively friendly, though. Pomeagles do love to bark as well, so that’s another reason training may come in handy.
On the other hand, Pomeagles can be stubborn. So, training can be easy, or it can be tricky. You can hire a professional dog trainer to help you out if needed.
Pomeagle – A Great Family Dog
Pomeagles are small to medium-sized dogs. For example, they can grow to be about six to 12 inches tall and weigh between five and 25 pounds. Males are typically a little bit bigger and heavier than females. This hybrid can take after either parent breed when it comes to appearance. Typically, this mixed breed has a short and smooth coat. Luckily, they need minimal grooming. You can bathe them yourself at home or bring them into a professional grooming salon once in a while. Also, this crossbreed sheds a moderate amount. So, to keep the loose hairs under control, you’ll want to brush their coat at least once a week.
Finally, Pomeagles have moderate energy levels. They’ll prefer to live in a bigger house with a fenced-in yard. However, if given the right amount of exercise per day, they can live well in an apartment.
