The Schnoodle is a mix between the Schnauzer and the Poodle. It’s hard to predict their exact size, because they might have parents that are standard or miniature sizes! If you’re picking one out from a breeder, ask a lot of questions about the parents to try and predict what size they might end up. However, be careful with breeders of Schnoodles. They’re a designer breed, which means backyard breeders and puppy mills will churn them out as unhealthy dogs for a quick profit. If they’re cheap and it seems too good to be true, it probably is!
You can expect them to have a dense, curly coat. They hopefully won’t shed much and will prove good for people with allergies. They may come in a variety of colors, since they could take a coat from either parent.
The Schnoodle – A Very Friendly Dog Breed
These dogs are actually great for novice owners. They do have quite a bit of energy and you will have to make sure they have an outlet for that, but as long as they do, they’re great dogs. The Schnoodle is a great combination of being both intelligent and eager to please. While some clever dogs have a stubborn streak, your Schnoodle actually wants to listen to you. This makes training a delight. If they’re a toy or miniature, however, have more patience with potty training, as it’ll be longer before they have bladder control.
They’re very sociable dogs and love everyone. You should still socialize them well to ensure they live up to their full potential and not take their good nature for granted, though. Any dog needs good training and socialization, the Schnoodle is just easier to mold into a truly great companion for life! You couldn’t pick a better mix to own.
