According to the American Kennel Club, the Cairn Terrier Terrier, as you probably could have guessed, is part of the Terrier group. This is a small dog that will weigh no more than 13 or 14 pounds. So, if you’re looking for a tiny companion, you’re in luck. Take a look at the Cairn Terrier photos below to see for yourself.

This pooch is affectionate with its family members, including kids and other dogs. They’re even open to meeting strangers. However, they do make a great watchdog. While they’ll warm up to strangers quickly, the Cairn Terrier will certainly be alert and bark to let you know when they feel as though something is off. In fact, this doggo is a barker regardless. They enjoy hearing themselves talk.

Cairn Terriers are full of energy and need a lot of physical and mental stimulation each day. So a long walk every day will be fine for them. Since they are so small, they can’t exert themselves too much. However, Cairn Terriers are also very playful. So, they may get the zoomies in the house if they want to go outside and play or haven’t gotten enough attention during the day.

The Cairn Terrier has a wiry double coat that’s medium in length. They do shed moderately, but luckily, their coat is easy to groom. Plus, this doggo is easy to train and intelligent.
