The Cavador is a mixed breed between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Labrador Retriever. It’s small to a medium-sized dog that can weigh anywhere between 22 and 53 pounds. They have a straight, dense coat that’s medium in length. They’ll need a moderate amount of grooming, such as weekly brushing, to keep their coat looking clean and healthy. This dog breed can also come in a few different coat colors. Take a look at the Cavador photos below to see for yourself.
Cavadors were bred to be companion dogs. Any household will be lucky to have this pooch as part of the family. They’re affectionate with their family members, good with children, and good with other dogs. However, they might have a hunting instinct from their Labrador parent. If that’s the case, then you’ll want to keep smaller pets away from them. Otherwise, training and early socialization will be a good idea.
Otherwise, the Cavador is friendly and gentle. They don’t make great guard dogs, but they will bark if a stranger approaches. So, you can count on them as a watchdog. But, once they realize the stranger is not a threat, they’ll treat the stranger as their new best friend. They are full of energy and will need long, daily walks and a fenced-in yard to curb their energy.
Overall, the Cavador is a great family dog and a delight to be around.
