The Docker is a mixed breed of the Dachshund and Cocker Spaniel purebreds. They can be small or medium in size, depending on the size of the Dachshund parent. This pooch will grow to be up to 15 inches tall and weigh between 20 to 30 pounds. There’s a lot to love about this doggo, so be sure to check out the Docker photos shown below.
Dockers are extremely affectionate and loyal to their family members. But, they don’t like to be left alone for too long and will get separation anxiety. So, they’ll fit right in with a larger family where there can be someone home most of the time. This pooch will be more than happy to cuddle with you on the couch, but they might get bursts of energy here and there and want to play.
An Active Dog
Given their size, they’ll do fine with moderate exercise, but they’ll certainly like a fenced-in yard where they can explore and play a game of fetch with you. However, they’ll do well in an apartment.
Dockers are friendly toward family members, other dogs, and kids. However, they have a strong prey drive, so if you have small animals in the house, you’ll want to keep them separated. Regardless, socialization and proper training are necessary for this pooch. Luckily, they’re intelligent and somewhat easy to train.
