Here are some English Setter photos to help you understand what the breed truly looks like.

The English Setter is a very beautiful and very distinct dog. They’re medium-sized and have a number of traits that make them very recognizable. The main thing is their long, silky coats that are usually speckled. These coats have a variety of colors.

They are very people-oriented and love their owners. However, they need owners who will devote themselves to them too. They’ll always want to be with you and need a lot of activities to do. If you’re someone who loves the great outdoors and is looking for a hiking companion, they’re great dogs. They have high stamina and can cover a lot of ground quickly. They won’t be content lazing around on the couch all day. As long as they get the exercise they need, they’ll be very relaxed indoors.

Intelligent Dogs

They’re friendly and intelligent, which makes them trainable. They can, however, also be mischievous! You should keep a close eye on this dog, especially as puppies. Left unsupervised, they’ll try to get into things they shouldn’t. Enrichment activities can help with this, such as snuffle mats and puzzles. This will wear them out as much as physical exercise.

Since people bred them to hunt, introductions to smaller animals like cats should be very slow. Never leave them alone unsupervised, even when you trust the dog, as this can end in disaster.

To truly understand this breed you can look at some of these photos of the dog from a puppy right through to a senior dog.
