Feeding your dog a healthy Poodle diet may sound very complicated, but it doesn’t have to be. As long as you make sure the food contains the right ingredients, you can’t go wrong. These wonderful dogs look beautiful and are incredibly smart (known as the smartest breed) so giving them the best food is essential.

5 Tips For A Healthy Poodle Diet

Poodles can be picky eaters and sometimes they have very sensitive stomachs. To keep your dog healthy, you can look at the 5 tips below for feeding your pooch a healthy Poodle diet.

1. Real Ingredients

Make sure that no matter what food you feed, there are real ingredients listed on the label. This means it contains real meat like chicken, vegetables like sweet potato, and other whole foods. Some dog foods use a lot of fillers, you want to avoid those at all costs.

2. Healthy Oils

Make sure the food you feed contains healthy oils such as fish oil, flaxseed oil, or other sources of Omega 3 fatty acids. These oils will contribute to healthy joints and a healthy coat.

3. Human Food

Try avoiding feeding your Poodle table scraps. These dogs are excellent at manipulating you for food, but human food can lead to health problems such as obesity and upset stomachs.

4. Add Fresh Foods

Dogs can benefit from some fresh foods in their food bowls. Just make sure not to overdo it. Also, make sure the foods you feed are dog-safe.

5. For A Healthy Poodle Don’t Make Any Drastic Changes

Poodles have sensitive stomachs. If you want to switch from one food to another make sure to mix the foods for a few weeks while reducing the old food. Simply switching from one food to another can make your Poodle seriously ill.

There is of course a lot more you can do to keep your Poodle healthy, but these tips are a good start. Happy Poodle feeding!
