Japanese Spitz Photos

If you want to look at Japanese Spitz photos, we have some adorable ones here.
The Japanese Spitz is a small to medium-sized dog that will stand out because of its very fluffy coat! They are white and people often mistake them for American Eskimo Dogs, as the coats make them similar in appearance. They have a pointed muzzle and pricked ears that stand up through their fur. Their grooming needs are pretty high-maintenance, so you should be prepared to brush them a lot and have them professionally groomed regularly.
They are a healthy breed, but they have one major concern: Patellar luxation. This is when the knee dislocates, and these dogs find this happening often.
They aren’t working dogs, but companion dogs. That means they don’t have much of an independent streak and want to be around their people constantly. They can be “velcro dogs”, so you should be aware of separation anxiety and work to prevent this early. These dogs, however, very friendly and make great companions for small children.
A Dog That Will Protect You
They also act as watchdogs, and will be very quick to let you know when something is amiss. They make great protectors for their family because they’re so devoted.
Overall, as long as you train and socialize them early, you’ll have a great dog. Just be aware of the health concerns and set them up for success.
