If you want to see some majestic Keeshond photos, you should look here to see some great ones.
The Keeshond is a very unique-looking breed of dog! The two-layered coat of silver and black fur looks amazing on them, and they otherwise look like the other spitz dogs in features. They are sturdy and weigh around 30lb, which makes them a pretty medium-sized dog on the smaller side. As you might be able to tell, they do have some grooming needs due to their coat, so you should be prepared to keep up with that.
They are intelligent but unlike some other intelligent dogs, they don’t tend to show an independent or stubborn streak. In fact, they’re very eager to please, which makes them a pleasure to train. They are also known to be very affectionate, and are your typical “velcro dog”. While this is great in many situations, you should make sure you teach them how to be alone. Otherwise, you may end up with some separation anxiety.
A Noisy Dog
The one thing to watch with this breed is the barking. They make excellent watchdogs, which can be handy if something is amiss. However, they’re very sensitive to everything going on outside and the barking can become extreme. This can be an issue if you live in an apartment or townhouse.
If you have space from the neighbors and the patience to train “quiet”, this might be the breed for you though.
