Old English Sheepdog Photos

The Old English Sheepdog is part of the herding group. They were initially bred to herd sheep, cattle, and other livestock on farms. They’re large dogs, standing at least 21 to 22 inches tall and weighing 60 to 100 pounds. Females are usually smaller than males. This pooch is hard not to recognize with its shaggy coat. First, however, you can take a look at the Old English Sheepdog photos shown below.
This purebred has a long double coat in a few colors, mainly whites, grays, and blues. Grooming their coat is extensive, so frequent trips to the professional grooming salon will be ideal. In addition, this doggo sheds a heavy amount. So, brushing their coat at least two to three times per week will be a good idea if you don’t want their fur all over your furniture and clothes. Also, Old English Sheepdogs drool a considerable amount.
Otherwise, they make a great family companion dog. For instance, this pooch is affectionate with their family members and great with young kids. However, when it comes to other dogs or strangers, they’ll be wary at first. Luckily, they’re easy to train, so you can easily socialize them to get comfortable with others.
