Have you ever heard of a Shollie dog? This pooch is a mixed breed of the German Shepherd and the Border Collie. They can be medium or large dogs, growing between 21 and 29 inches tall and weighing between 70 and 80 pounds. In addition, this hybrid has an average lifespan of 13 to 15 years. To learn more about this doggo, then take a look at the Shollie photos shown below.

The Shollie is considered to be intelligent, energetic, and loyal. They take some of the best traits from both of their parent breeds. You can bet this pooch will make an excellent family companion dog. They’ll form a bond with you and protect their family and territory. However, Shollies are not an aggressive breed. In fact, this pooch is easy to train and socialize with from a young age.

On the other hand, they have high energy levels. A daily walk won’t be enough to satisfy this pup. Since they come from two dogs used to working and herding, the Shollie will need plenty of physical activity and mental stimulation. Due to this and their size, they won’t do well in an apartment. Shollies need a bigger home with a fenced-in yard.

In addition, they require plenty of grooming and shed a considerable amount. If you can’t stand dog hair all over your home or you’re allergic, then daily brushing is a must.
