The original dog supermodel, we found Cindy lying outside some restaurants, unable to lift herself from the road. She was morbidy obese, losing her fur and had given up on life. Carrying all that weight was putting a serious strain on her heart and causing serious health concerns...
Despite a slightly lazy nature–and a thyroid issue–within a few months, Cindy had lost 10kg, her fur had returned and she had a zest for life. She moved in with one of our helpers, Lana, and a bond grew. Soon, Lana and Cindy were inseparable and Lana asked if she could adopt her. Now Cindy lives with Lana and Dannii and their dogs on Koh Samui.

While most street dogs who need medical attention can be back with their packs within the day, some need more serious medical attention.
These are the dogs who come to stay at our sanctuary at Happy Doggo Land. Dogs who have been hit by cars, who have been badly abused, or even need to lose some weight, come to us for care and rehabilitation. Often, they’re able to go back and live their lives normally but sometimes they’re rehomed. In this case, they stay with us until they’re ready to travel.
