The best boy there ever was, older gentleman Derek came to us on the verge of death. Completely devoid of fur and covered in parasites, Derek wouldn’t have made it on the streets if we hadn't found him...
From the very beginning, it was clear Derek knew he had landed on his paws. He was given his own little suite at the land and enjoyed every moment of every day. When this lovely senior began to get sick, he went to live with Niall and loved having his own little sofa even more. Sadly, Derek passed away at the end of 2023 but his legacy lives on. Derek reminds us all to enjoy the moment and be grateful for the little things.

While most street dogs who need medical attention can be back with their packs within the day, some need more serious medical attention.
These are the dogs who come to stay at our sanctuary at Happy Doggo Land. Dogs who have been hit by cars, who have been badly abused, or even need to lose some weight, come to us for care and rehabilitation. Often, they’re able to go back and live their lives normally but sometimes they’re rehomed. In this case, they stay with us until they’re ready to travel.
